Like your favorite sweater, the perfect beer to fend off the winter chill. I use creamy flaked rye and a hint of caramel malt to give it sweetness and then I balance the sweetness with the spiciness of hand-selected rye malts. It’s only mildly hopped with Zeus and Cascade to give it the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. At 7.6% ABV, it’s a little warmer than summer beers. It’s like comfortable, worn flannel on your palate–smooth and creamy. It’s a beer that implores you to draw a little closer and heap another log on the fire while you share the warmth and company of friends.

We start with hints of Carmel and Black malts, then add Cascade and Hersbrucker hops to provide its instantly recognizable bold and earthy aroma with a surprisingly well-balanced body.

The brew strategy was to throw Tomahawk, Chinook, Magnum and Cascade hops into the arena and let ’em fight. They knock the rough edges off one another to craft an American-style IPA that shoves you back with style and substance but doesn’t need to rely on the overly bitter sucker-punch of some IPAs.
ABV: 7.0% IBUs: 72
