With less than seven weeks to go before the Veteran Beer Company launch, things are moving more quickly these days. This week, several of us (including Eric, of course) are up in Minnesota working with the facility that is producing the beer that exceeds the capacity of our Veteran-owned facility in Illinois. We’re simultaneously working with our packaging engineers (who source everything through Veteran-owned companies) to ensure Veteran Beer Company products are well represented on the shelves of retailers throughout Illinois and Indiana in 46 days.
I swam this morning at the YMCA up in Minnesota, and spoke briefly with another swimmer about the Veteran Beer Company. That conversation was overheard by a small group of Army reservists who in turn told other Army reservists. Before I left the YMCA, there were more than 20 people who had engaged in the discussion—all encouraging me to have Minnesota be in the next phase of launch (in May). That’s the sort of enthusiastic response we’re receiving everywhere.
Before heading back south for another hiring conference, we’ll stop in an interview with one of the local distributors that is interested in carrying the Veteran Beer Company’s products. They know that a key part of the interview for us will be evaluating the numbers of Veterans they employ in-house.
